The Story Behind CMJ…

We are a 'pop-up' preloved bookshop on the island of Jersey, offering a wide selection of beautifully curated affordable books, in pristine or gently loved condition. Visit us in person or order online below.

Holding a book in your hands is a grounding experience, and at CMJ we aim to preserve that magic—along with the stories, questions and inspirations they contain. By finding books a second home we hope to help keep reading affordable, while supporting sustainable practices that reduce waste and take care of our Earth.

For us, bookshops are joyful spaces. Filled with opportunities for both creativity and peaceful repose. They are a place for interaction and community for all.

Second-hand books are wild books, homeless books; who will, with luck, turn into the best friend we have in the world.”
